The writer's criticism of Middleton's conclusion about the (perhaps inherent?) instability of ad-hoc wireless networks seems misplaced given how painfully flaky these networks appear to be. Especially given the reference just one paragraph earlier to an incident of several Meraki networks experiencing significant outages over the holidays when many people unplugged the units in order to plug in Christmas lights. If a reboot is all that's needed it can happen from the manager's office, unplugging the Power Over Ethernet, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in. Jill's done this a couple times now. Doesn't seem to be resolving the problem though. Assuming the router itself needs attention it's more awkward, requiring coordination with the Awoo shopkeeper and a ladder. Plus cleanup of nasty drop-ceiling cruft. Are you in the neighbourhood? I'm down by Broadview and Dundas. I'd be happy to meet up if you're interested in learning a bit and helping get the hotspot back online.
