Dear Friends, Associates & Colleagues:
As many of you know I was pleased to be a founding member of Wireless
Toronto <http://wirelesstoronto.ca/> following the initiative and leadership
of Gabe Sawhney who got all of us together just about three years ago for
the first meeting at the Centre for Social
Innovation<http://www.socialinnovation.ca/>.
>From that meeting this amazing grassroots initiative spread across the
GTA<http://auth.wirelesstoronto.ca/hotspots_map.php>.
During my time with Wireless Toronto, I had an opportunity to meet and work
with many great people. I learnt a lot about WiFi and related technology,
deepened my knowledge of community, and had a lot of fun.
I am grateful to Gabe and all the other founding members for their
companionship and for the opportunity to make a modest contribution to
expanding the reach of 21st century community resource. It is fitting too
that Wireless Toronto is housed at the Centre for Social Innovation where it
all began, in place that takes community and initiative seriously.
With the responsibilities of my consulting practice, my curatorial
responsibilities with the new reading series livewords, and an invitation
to join the Board of Directors of the Old Town Toronto Promotional
Alliance<http://www.oldtowntoronto1793.com/>,
I am no longer able to make a meaningful contribution to Wireless Toronto. I
wish everyone at Wireless Toronto the best and it is my hope that the
initiative will continue to thrive and grow.
With many thanks,
--
