[wirelesstoronto-discuss] Let's meet -- time to work on the public site and portal pages

Hello all that came to last night's meeting
	(& those that meant to)

We've been thinking and talking for a while now about a revamp of both  
the public site and our captive portal pages. The time has come to  
produce.

By way of some background, we're looking at replacing the current  
public site with a Wordpress install that will let us serve our three  
main audiences: users, venues, and group supporters. Users will gain  
easier access to account management, venues get a spiffy profile, and  
supporters -- well opportunities to support.

We'll also bring in some shiny new media bits like twitter feeds,  
badges to adorn ourselves online, and yet-to-be-determined-but- 
undoubtedly-brilliant-thing that some smarmy 20 year old releases and  
forever changes how we interact.

The other big slice of this is to put some polish on our portal pages  
including using venue profiles and incorporating dynamic (& site- 
specific) elements.

It'll be cool. Cooler still because this will position us for the next  
big release of our beloved WiFido.g which looks like it'll have  
Wordpress integration/support built-in.

If you can code, we need you.
If you can command Photoshop and Illustrator (or GIMP & Inkscape), we  
need you.
If you can write strong copy, we need you.
If you can take amazing pictures, we need you.

If you're interested in helping out, we need you.

Let's kick things off next week with a meeting and, depending on  
numbers & energy levels, something tangible to behold. We'll look at  
pretty things, discuss the plans, figure out next steps, and assign  
some roles/responsibilities.

Proposed dates and times are next Tuesday 17th or Wednesday 18th,  
either late afternoon (3:30/4:00) or early evening (5:30) for a couple  
hours. And then, as per tradition, we can grab a drink and pint nearby.

For central convenience, let's meet at 215 Spadina -- Dark Horse for  
now or a room upstairs if we're many in number.
