Over 1,000 Torontonians enjoy free WiFi Internet access with Wireless Toronto!

Wireless Toronto has today registered its 1,000th user through its
network of free WiFi hot spots across the GTA. In less than a year
Wireless Toronto has gone from an idea inspired by Montréal's Ile Sans
Fil to 13 deployed hotspots from Oakville to Scarbourough, Woodbridge
to St. Lawrence Market.

Wireless Toronto is an all-volunteer non-profit initiative dedicated
to re-imagining how technology, community groups, the arts sector, and
businesses can come together to re-vitalize Toronto's public spaces.

With a diverse group of 20+ volunteers, Wireless Toronto has been busy
setting up additional hotspot sites all across the Greater Toronto
Area, and looks forward to increasing the number of deployed hot spots
in time for the group's first anniversary in May.

Volunteers, site sponsors and creative ideas are welcome. Wireless
Toronto invites all who are interested in encouraging the growth of
free community wireless in Toronto to come and join the adventure.
